Day 1: Mindful Engagement Transforming Action (META)

An experiential, skills-based learning session designed to introduce participants to META, a practice that has been developed through the shared wisdom of people who work in social and environmental justice, peace and reconciliation, health, education, advocacy, indigenous rights, and media communication. Gain an in-depth understanding of the qualities of Mindful Engagement — compassion, equanimity, authenticity, mindfulness, and skillful communication. Develop personal insight, skills, and tools needed to build resilience, transform conflict, and create impactful and sustainable actions that do not harm others.

Day 2: Building Trauma-Informed Conflict Engagement Practices

This evidence-based interactive session will help partici[pants learn constructive alternatives to the destructive conflicts that undermine social, political, environmental impact spaces. Working from a trauma-informed lens, build skills and practices to anticipate, prepare, recognize and respond to conflicts while engaging in ways that Do No Harm. Understand the nature of conflict, learn how to respond, manage, and transform conflicts with individuals, groups, in communities, and systems.
