Gaden Shartse Monastery – Phukhang
We live in a time of profound global discord. Yet, within the ancient wisdom traditions of Tibetan Buddhism lie timeless pathways to restore peace and harmony both within ourselves and among communities and society. Sacred Harmony World Peace Tour and the monks of Gaden Shartse Monastery Phukhang seek to cultivate intercultural understanding, peace, and healing through the transformative power of sacred sound, art, and Tibetan Buddhist dharma teachings, and empowerments.
This unique tour will share the profound spiritual impact of Tibetan tantric chanting and other sacred Tibetan Buddhist art, teachings, and rituals with global audiences, fostering a consciousness of peace through direct, immersive experiences. Each tour visit and performance generates a field of harmonious resonance, offering healing energies that ripple through individuals and communities alike.
Supporting Monks at Gaden Shartse Phukhang
The Sacred Harmony Gaden Shartse Phukhang Tour wishes to share with all people the Tibetan Buddhhist monks’ culture, as well as practices and paths to inner peace and compassion. In addition, the tour is raising funds for the construction of a new Khangtsen or dormitory. Within Phukhang Khangtsen are many Mahayana Tibetan Buddhist scholars and teachers. New monks, some as young as 4 years old, are drawn to these practioners as they begin their journey in the monastery. Phukhang Khangtsen has 120 rooms to accommodate a rapidly growing number of monks. Today there are 450 monks who face overcrowding, where 3-5 monks often must share small rooms. Phukhang and Gaden Shartse Monastery have jointly approved building 60 new rooms to accommodate those elder Geshes for better living standards and conditions while welcoming new monks into the monastery.
